MASSACHUSETTS
The photographs from Massachusetts were taken primarily in 2024 and 2025 in several locations including The Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and Sandy Point State Reservation which are contiguous to each other and located on Plum Island, and Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Concord.  Sandy Point features a coastal beach that is an ideal location for photographing Piping Plovers, Least Terns, and Semipalmated Plovers which are featured in this section along with a variety of gulls, egrets, herons, raptors, and other shore birds.  Great Meadows in Concord is a fresh water wetlands that is one of eight national wildlife refuge units in Eastern, Mass. It is an ideal location to photograph Marsh Wrens which are featured in this section as well as Red-winged Blackbirds, Great Blue Herons, and a wide variety of other birds. The Peregrine Falcon images were photographed at a location in Woburn, Massachusetts. The hummingbird is a female, Ruby-throated Hummingbird from the Wayland, Mass. Community Gardens.  This image is noteworthy because it is the first one in Project 2025 shot with the OM System I mark II camera and the OM 150-400mm f/4.5 lens.
